The problem with most smart homes

Nobody designed a system.
The typical "smart home" is a pile of disconnected apps tied to a dozen different cloud services. Every device phones home to a manufacturer you didn't pick. Every account is a credential you have to manage. Every cloud outage breaks something. Half the devices stop being "smart" the day the manufacturer kills the API.
The typical commercial building is worse: proprietary BMS systems with 20-year lifecycles, locked-in service contracts, and zero visibility into what's actually happening on the wire.
We started this division because the people who designed those products optimized for sales velocity, not for the people who have to live in the resulting building. Smart spaces should be designed the way OT engineers design factory networks — deterministic, segmented, observable, and resilient when something fails.

Every design decision we make ladders up to one of these four ideas.
Security by design, not by retrofit
IoT segmentation, VLAN partitioning, firmware tracking, and CVE monitoring are baked into every install. We bring enterprise IoT security practice (Armis-grade visibility) to the residential and SMB market — because nobody else does.
Local-first. Cloud-optional.
Your house should keep working when the internet goes down. We choose Matter-over-Thread, Home Assistant, and KNX precisely because they don't require a manufacturer cloud account to function.
No vendor lock-in. Ever.
We don't resell a single ecosystem. Apple Home, Google Home, Home Assistant, Hubitat, KNX — we pick what fits the customer, not what fits our incentive structure. Open standards over walled gardens.
Jurisdictionally clean by default
No data leaves your premises unless you ask it to. For voice and AI features we offer local LLM orchestration through our self-hosted AI Gateway — your commands aren't training somebody else's model.

Tier 1
À la carte Install
Two cameras and a video doorbell. A handful of smart switches. A new thermostat wired up correctly. No central hub — you manage it through the manufacturer apps. We just make sure it's installed properly.

Tier 2
Smart Home Setup
A real centralized Home Assistant brain on a Raspberry Pi or Lenovo mini PC, deployed in your home. We install it, configure your network, integrate your devices, and build your first set of automations.

Custom Build
Required for new construction, KNX wiring, multi-zone commercial, BMS integration, or any project that needs upfront design work before install can be quoted. Two phases: paid design first, then install.

Tier 3 or Tier 4?Tier 4 is required when the job needs upfront design work — KNX, new construction, multi-zone commercial, BMS integration, or anything where blueprints are needed before install can be quoted. Everything else stays in Tier 3, even if device count is high. If you're not sure which one fits, we'll tell you on the call.

Out of scope: We do not provide monitored alarm or life-safety services (fire, burglar, medical alert). Those require Texas DPS Private Security licensing and a different operating model. We will gladly integrate with your existing alarm provider.
